Description
Compact Root Rake Grapple for Skid Steers & Tractor Loaders
The Construction Attachments Compact Root Rake Grapple is designed for removing roots, rocks, brush and debris while allowing loose soil to pass through the rake. Built for skid steers and tractor loaders from 25–75 HP, this compact grapple combines aggressive serrated AR450 steel tines with powerful hydraulic clamping.
Unlike a conventional bucket, the open root rake design helps separate unwanted material from the soil. As a result, operators can clear, rake, grapple and pile debris with one attachment.
Compact Root Rake Grapple Features

Clear Roots, Brush, Rocks & Debris
The Compact Root Rake Grapple is designed to grab and remove unwanted material while leaving much of the loose soil behind.
For example, the serrated rake tines can work beneath roots, rocks and debris. The hydraulic grapple then clamps the material for removal and transport.
In addition, the grapple lid can be used for back-dragging. This allows operators to loosen and smooth the ground after material has been removed.
Typical applications include:
- Root removal
- Brush clearing
- Rock removal
- Storm cleanup
- Property maintenance
- Land clearing
- Debris cleanup
- Landscaping
- Farm and agricultural work
- Material handling
Serrated AR450 Steel Tines
High-wear areas use serrated AR450 steel for increased durability and aggressive material engagement.
Rake and grapple-lid tine thickness varies by model to match the intended machine class.
55″ and 60″ models use:
- 1/4″ serrated AR450 grapple lid tines
- 3/4″ serrated AR450 rake tines
66″ and 72″ models use:
- 3/8″ serrated AR450 grapple lid tines
- 7/8″ serrated AR450 rake tines
Therefore, the larger models receive heavier tine construction for their higher horsepower duty rating.

Available Compact Root Rake Grapple Models
Multiple widths are available for different skid steer and tractor loader applications.
The product line includes models for 25 HP and 75 HP duty ratings, with tine count, tine thickness and operating weight varying by model.
Choose the appropriate width and duty rating for your machine. Always specify the make and model of the host machine when ordering.
Root Rake Grapple vs. Standard Grapple Bucket
A conventional grapple bucket is designed primarily to grab and carry material. However, a root rake grapple uses an open tine design that allows loose dirt and smaller material to fall through while retaining roots, rocks, brush and larger debris.
This makes a root rake grapple particularly useful for land clearing and cleanup applications where operators want to remove debris without carrying excessive amounts of soil.
Built for Skid Steers & Tractor Loaders
The Compact Root Rake Grapple is designed for appropriately sized:
- Skid steer loaders
- Tractor loaders
- Compact loader applications
Models are available for machines in the 25–75 horsepower range.
Because machine specifications vary, provide your machine make and model when ordering to ensure the appropriate grapple is selected.
Frequently Asked Questions
